← Slop Check

Privacy

The short version

The extension runs only on linkedin.com. Nothing leaves your browser until you click is this slop? on a post. There are no accounts, no sign-in, no cookies, no analytics and no ads.

What is sent, and what is kept

When you click the button, the post's text is sent for AI detection. The text is not saved. What is saved is the score that comes back, and a coded form of the author's profile so their posts can be counted together. Their name and profile address are not saved.

What it is used for

Scores are shared, which is the point of the extension. Once anyone checks a post, everyone else with the extension sees that score on the same post instead of a button, and the author's profile badge is built from those same scores. Nobody can tell who ran a check, because that is never recorded.

Other companies involved

Pangram receives post text to analyse it. Their handling is covered by their own privacy policy. Cloudflare hosts the API and this site, and like any web host processes ordinary request data such as IP addresses to serve traffic.

Nothing is sold, and nothing is shared with anyone else.

Limited use

Slop Check's use of information received from its users follows the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. In practice:

Removing a check

There is no account to delete. If you want a particular check taken out of the database, send the post and it will be removed.
